More Details on Our Top Picks
Bassinet Mattress Pad Cover for Baby Delight Beside Me Dreamer Bassinet
This bamboo viscose cover excels in providing a soft, breathable barrier for your baby’s mattress, making it a standout choice for parents prioritizing natural materials. Compared to products like the Lisara Baby Bassinet Mattress, which uses memory foam, this cover emphasizes moisture-wicking and comfort over support. Its snug fit and easy machine washability enhance everyday convenience, though its compatibility is limited strictly to the Baby Delight Beside Me Dreamer Bassinet, which could be a drawback for those with different models. The natural bamboo fabric helps regulate temperature and reduces sweating, making it ideal for sensitive skin. However, durability over long-term use remains uncertain, especially if washed frequently. This pick makes the most sense for eco-conscious parents seeking a breathable, natural cover for a specific bassinet model.
Pros:- Made from natural bamboo viscose for softness and breathability
- Waterproof and moisture-wicking to protect the mattress
- Snug fit and easy to clean
Cons:- May not fit bassinets other than the specified model
- Limited information on durability over long-term use
Best for: Parents who want a natural, breathable cover compatible with Baby Delight Beside Me Dreamer Bassinet
Not ideal for: Buyers with different bassinet models or those seeking long-term durability in heavy-use environments
- Material:100% bamboo viscose
- Pack Size:2 Pack
- Compatibility:Baby Delight Beside Me Dreamer Bassinet
- Features:Waterproof, breathable, moisture-wicking, crease-resistant, machine washable
Our verdict“This cover is best for eco-conscious parents with a Baby Delight Beside Me Dreamer Bassinet who value natural materials and breathability.”
Custom Size Cradle Baby Mattress and Bassinet Mattress – Firm Foam with Waterproof Cover
This firm foam mattress with a waterproof vinyl cover offers tailored sizing options, making it ideal for bassinets and cradles needing a snug, supportive fit. Unlike the Lisara Memory Foam Mattress, which emphasizes comfort with gel support, this product focuses on support and safety, especially important for infants in the critical early months. The non-toxic, hypoallergenic materials and flame-resistant certification add peace of mind, though its limited use to bassinets and cradles means it’s not suitable for standard cribs or larger beds. Proper measuring is essential to avoid sizing mismatches, which can compromise safety or comfort. This mattress makes sense for parents who want a custom-sized, easy-to-clean support surface in a bassinet or cradle environment, prioritizing safety and simplicity over plushness.
Pros:- Custom sizes available for precise fit
- Waterproof cover simplifies cleanup
- Made from safe, hypoallergenic materials
Cons:- Not suitable for standard cribs or larger beds
- Requires careful measurement for correct fit
Best for: Parents needing a custom-sized, hypoallergenic bassinet or cradle mattress with easy cleanup
Not ideal for: Buyers seeking a multi-purpose mattress that works with standard cribs or for long-term use beyond bassinets
- Material:Firm foam with waterproof vinyl cover
- Made in:USA
- Certifications:Non-toxic, hypoallergenic, flame-resistant, antimicrobial
- Intended Use:Bassinets and cradles (not for cribs)
Our verdict“This mattress is ideal for parents who want a safe, supportive, and customizable option tailored to bassinet or cradle dimensions.”
American Baby Company Waterproof Flat Reusable Bassinet Mattress Pad Protector, 15″ x 33″
This polyester mattress pad provides a soft, quilted surface that is both waterproof and reusable, making it a practical choice for parents who want quick cleanup after accidents. While it’s more affordable than foam-based mattresses like the Lisara Gel Memory Foam model, its limited size options and no mention of hypoallergenic features make it less versatile for broader use. The quiet, soft polyester fabric helps reduce noise during movements, which can be a plus for light sleepers. However, its size constraints mean it’s best suited for small bassinets, and it lacks the support characteristics of foam models. This pick makes the most sense for caregivers seeking an easy-to-maintain protector that fits standard bassinets and offers a soft, quiet sleeping surface.
Pros:- Waterproof and reusable for convenience
- Quiet, soft materials reduce noise disturbances
- Easy to wash and maintain
Cons:- Limited size options restrict versatility
- No hypoallergenic features or support elements
Best for: Parents looking for an affordable, reusable waterproof pad for small bassinets or travel cribs
Not ideal for: Those needing a long-lasting foam support or larger sizes for bigger bassinets or cribs
- Material:100% Polyester
- Waterproof Layer:Yes
- Size:15″ x 33″
Our verdict“This waterproof pad suits parents seeking an affordable, quiet, and reusable protector for small bassinets or travel beds.”
Lisara Baby Bassinet Mattress, 35 x 20 Inch, Gel Memory Foam, Rectangle
This gel memory foam mattress with a waterproof cover balances comfort and support, making it suitable for parents wanting a dual-sided option that adapts as their baby grows. Compared to the simpler, foam-only products like the Cradle Mattress, the Lisara offers cooling gel support on one side and firmer foam on the other, which can help address different comfort needs. The removable, washable cover enhances cleaning convenience, yet its specific size limits its applicability, and the firmness of the high-density side might be too rigid for some infants. While it lacks organic or hypoallergenic certifications, its excellent breathability and support-focused design make it a good choice for comfort-conscious parents.
Pros:- Removable, washable waterproof cover
- Dual-sided firmness with cooling gel support
- Excellent breathability and support
Cons:- Limited to specific size (35 x 20 inches)
- Potentially too firm for some infants on the high-density side
Best for: Parents seeking a versatile, dual-sided, breathable mattress for 35″ x 20″ bassinets
Not ideal for: Buyers with different bassinet sizes or those needing organic, hypoallergenic materials
- Size:35 x 20 inches
- Material:Gel Memory Foam, TPU Waterproof Cover
- Breathability:Excellent
- Removable Cover:Yes
- Firmer Side:High-density support foam
- Softer Side:Cooling gel memory foam
Our verdict“This mattress suits parents prioritizing dual-sided support and breathability in a 35" x 20" bassinet environment.”
Bassinet Mattress Pad, 41″ x 27.5″ x 2″, Dual Layer Memory Foam and High-Density Foam, Waterproof and Washable Cover
This dual-layer memory foam and high-density foam mattress provides a plush yet supportive surface, ideal for parents using larger bassinets or portable cribs. Unlike the Lisara mattress, which focuses on breathability, this one emphasizes comfort with layered foam construction. Its waterproof, breathable cover is removable and machine washable, making cleanup straightforward. The larger dimensions are perfect for standard playards, but the need to wait 24-36 hours for full expansion might be inconvenient initially. Double-checking size compatibility before purchase is essential to prevent mismatches. This pick is best for parents who want a versatile, comfortable, and hygienic sleeping surface in larger, portable sleeping environments.
Pros:- Dual-layer foam offers customizable comfort
- Waterproof and breathable cover simplifies cleaning
- Removable, machine washable for hygiene
Cons:- Requires 24-36 hours to fully expand after opening
- Size compatibility must be verified before purchase
Best for: Parents needing a larger, dual-layer foam mattress for standard playards or portable cribs
Not ideal for: Buyers with smaller bassinets or those seeking organic or hypoallergenic materials
- Dimensions:41″ x 27.5″ x 2″
- Material:Memory foam, high-density foam
- Cover:Waterproof, breathable, washable
- Compatibility:GAIVE Baby Playard and others
Our verdict“This mattress is best suited for parents looking for a larger, supportive, and hygienic option for standard playards or portable cribs.”
Waterproof Bassinet Mattress Pad Cover 2-Pack, Fits 19″ x 33″ Baby Delight, BabyBond, YADAQE, KoolaBaby, Angelbliss, Cowiewie, Maxi COSI, Dream On Me Skylar/Lotus
This 2-pack of waterproof, breathable mattress covers offers a practical choice for parents seeking affordable protection for a variety of bassinets. Its elastic edges make installation straightforward across a range of models like Baby Delight and Dream On Me Skylar, matching well with similar covers but at a lower price point. While it excels in softness and moisture-wicking, it falls short on hypoallergenic features and limited color options may not suit all nursery aesthetics. The dual pack provides convenience, but the polyester material may be less durable over time compared to more premium fabrics. Compared with higher-end options, this cover prioritizes value over long-term durability, making it suitable for budget-conscious families.
Pros:- Ultra-soft and breathable for enhanced comfort
- Waterproof and moisture-wicking to prevent leaks
- Fits a variety of bassinets with elastic edges
- Easy to put on and remove
Cons:- May not fit bassinets outside specified dimensions
- No hypoallergenic properties or advanced fabric features
Best for: Parents looking for an affordable, reliable waterproof cover for standard-sized bassinets
Not ideal for: Parents needing hypoallergenic or allergen-sensitive materials, or a wider range of colors
- Size:19″ x 33″
- Material:Polyester
- Number of Packs:2
Our verdict“This cover is ideal for budget-conscious parents seeking simple, effective waterproof protection for standard bassinets.”
JOYMISS Bassinet Mattress Pad for 24×20.8, 2″ Thick Dual Sided Gel Memory Foam Mattress with Breathable Removable Cover for Graco Pack n Play Dome LX Bassinet
Compared with the standard waterproof covers like the BabyBond, the JOYMISS pad offers a dual-sided gel memory foam that allows parents to customize firmness, making it ideal for growing infants or varied sleep preferences. Its removable, breathable Tencel and polyester cover simplifies cleaning, while the waterproof membrane provides security against spills—similar to the features in the Bassinet Mattress with waterproof vinyl cover. However, foam expansion can take up to 36 hours, which might delay setup, and the fit is tailored specifically for the Graco Pack n Play Dome LX, limiting its versatility. This makes it a smart choice for those who want a portable, adaptable sleep surface that prioritizes comfort, with some minor setup delay.
Pros:- Dual-sided gel memory foam offers customizable firmness
- Removable, washable, breathable cover for easy cleaning
- Waterproof membrane guards against spills
- Lightweight and portable for travel
Cons:- Foam may need 24-36 hours to fully expand after opening
- Designed specifically for Graco Pack n Play Dome LX
Best for: Parents seeking a versatile, travel-ready mattress with customizable firmness for the Graco Pack n Play Dome LX
Not ideal for: Those needing a universal fit for multiple bassinet brands or a quick setup without waiting for foam expansion
- Size:24″ x 20.8″ x 2″
- Material:Gel Memory Foam, Tencel/Polyester Cover
- Firmness:Medium
- Waterproof:Yes
Our verdict“This pick suits parents who want a flexible, comfort-enhancing mattress tailored for travel and specific bassinets like the Graco Pack n Play.”
Bassinet Mattress Pad Cover for HARPPA Cuddly Sway Baby Bassinet (2 Pack)
This bamboo viscose cover for the HARPPA Cuddly Sway offers a soft, moisture-wicking surface that surpasses basic waterproof covers like the BabyBond by adding a natural, skin-friendly material. Its waterproof and breathable properties make it suitable for sensitive babies, with the added convenience of a two-pack for ongoing use. While it excels in comfort and ease of cleaning, it doesn’t specify thickness or padding, which could be a concern for parents seeking a cushioned surface. Compared to foam-based options like the Baby Bassinet Mattress with non-toxic foam, this cover emphasizes breathability and natural fibers, making it a good choice for sensitive skin but less ideal if extra padding is desired.
Pros:- Waterproof and breathable for comfort
- Made from soft bamboo viscose suitable for sensitive skin
- Easy to clean and durable
- Includes two covers for convenience
Cons:- Lacks specific padding or thickness details
- May require gentle washing to maintain quality
Best for: Parents prioritizing natural, breathable, and gentle covers for sensitive or allergy-prone infants
Not ideal for: Families needing thicker padding or specific size compatibility outside HARPPA bassinets
- Pack Size:2 Pack
- Compatibility:HARPPA Cuddly Sway Bassinet
- Material:Bamboo viscose
- Features:Waterproof, breathable
Our verdict“This cover is well-suited for parents seeking a natural, moisture-wicking solution for sensitive babies in compatible bassinets.”
Baby Bassinet Mattress, Breathable, Hypoallergenic, Premium Foam, Non-Toxic, Oval Shaped with Waterproof Cover, 15″ x 30″ x 2″
Compared to the rectangular options like the JOYMISS, this oval-shaped mattress offers a tailored fit for standard bassinets while emphasizing safety with hypoallergenic, non-toxic foam. Its waterproof cover simplifies cleaning, similar to the Cradle Baby Mattress, but the specific shape and size mean careful measurement is necessary before purchase. Its supportive foam ensures a firm, safe sleep environment, though foam expansion can take up to 36 hours, and it’s limited to oval-shaped bassinets. This makes it an excellent choice for parents wanting a supportive, safe, and hypoallergenic sleep surface with a focus on hygiene and shape-specific fit.
Pros:- Breathable and hypoallergenic for safety
- Removable, washable waterproof cover
- Supports comfort and sleep quality
- Eco-friendly shipping and expansion instructions
Cons:- Requires precise measurement for proper fit
- Foam may need 24-36 hours to fully expand
Best for: Parents with oval-shaped bassinets seeking a supportive, hypoallergenic, and safe sleeping surface
Not ideal for: Parents with standard rectangular bassinets or who prefer a plush or padded mattress
- Shape:Oval
- Dimensions:15″ x 30″ x 2″
- Material:Premium foam
- Waterproof:Yes
Our verdict“This mattress is perfect for those with oval bassinets who prioritize safety, hypoallergenic materials, and shape-specific support.”
Cradle Baby Mattress and Bassinet Mattress 16×32 – 2-Inch Firm Foam with Waterproof Cover
This 2-inch firm foam mattress offers a straightforward, supportive sleep platform for infants, with a waterproof vinyl cover that simplifies cleanup—similar to the waterproof vinyl covers in other models but with a focus on firmness. Its non-toxic, hypoallergenic build emphasizes safety, yet the limited size range (16×32) means precise measurement is critical to ensure a proper fit. Compared to the gel memory foam or natural bamboo options, this mattress delivers a sturdy, supportive surface that appeals to parents prioritizing safety and easy maintenance over plushness or natural materials. It’s a reliable choice for those who want a simple, supportive mattress that fits standard bassinets and cradles.
Pros:- Provides firm, safe support for infants
- Waterproof vinyl cover for easy cleanup
- Made from non-toxic, hypoallergenic materials
- Available in common sizes for various bassinets
Cons:- Limited size options may require precise measurement

- Size:16″ x 32″
- Thickness:2 inches
- Material:Firm foam
- Cover:Waterproof vinyl
- Made in:USA
- Certifications:Non-toxic, hypoallergenic
Our verdict“This mattress suits parents who desire a straightforward, supportive, and easy-to-maintain sleep surface for standard bassinets or cradles.”
Lisara Baby Bassinet Mattress, 30 x 15 Inch, Gel Memory Foam, Oval
This bassinet mattress excels in offering dual firmness support with its gel memory foam side and high-density foam, making it a versatile choice for parents seeking tailored comfort. Its breathable, waterproof cover ensures protection against spills while maintaining airflow, which is crucial for infant safety. Compared to the Yoofoss waterproof pad, this model provides a more specialized sleep surface, although it’s limited to 30 x 15 inch bassinets, so careful measurement is necessary. The removable cover simplifies cleaning, a key factor for busy parents. Its dual-sided firmness allows for customization, but the size constraint can be a drawback if your bassinet doesn’t match exactly. Overall, this pick best suits parents who prioritize support and hygiene in a compact design, despite its limited compatibility.
Pros:- Dual firmness sides for personalized support
- Breathable, waterproof cover for hygiene and cleanup
- Removable, machine-washable cover for convenience

- Requires precise measurement before purchase to ensure fit

Not ideal for: Buyers with larger or irregularly shaped bassinets, as this mattress won’t fit non-standard sizes.
- Size:30 x 15 inches
- Material:Gel Memory Foam, TPU Waterproof Cover
- Breathability:Excellent
- Removable Cover:Yes
- Waterproof:Yes
- Dual Sided Firmness:Yes
Our verdict“This mattress is ideal for parents needing a supportive, easy-to-clean option for a specific bassinet size, despite its size restrictions.”
Yoofoss Waterproof Bassinet Mattress Pad Cover 2 Pack, Fits 34x19in Rectangle Bassinet Mattress, Baby Mattress Protector
The Yoofoss 2-pack offers a practical solution for parents who want reliable waterproof protection at a budget-friendly price. Made from soft microfiber, these covers are gentle against delicate baby skin and provide excellent breathability. They fit most standard rectangle bassinets up to 34 x 19 inches, making them a versatile choice compared to more specialized models like the Lisara oval mattress. Their quilted design enhances comfort and temperature regulation, although they may not fit thicker mattresses or non-standard sizes, which could limit their use. The washable, durable fabric ensures longevity through repeated laundering, ideal for busy households. This set is best suited for parents seeking multiple protective covers at a low cost, but it’s less suitable for those with unusual mattress dimensions.
Pros:- Soft, breathable microfiber fabric for comfort
- Waterproof protection against spills and leaks
- Fits most standard rectangle bassinets with deep pockets
- Durable and washable for repeated use
Cons:- Limited to standard sizes, may not fit thicker or non-standard mattresses

- Waterproof:Yes
- Fits:Rectangle bassinets up to 34 x 19 inches, up to 4 inches thick
- Number of Packs:2
- Breathability:High
Our verdict“This 2-pack offers reliable, affordable waterproof protection for standard bassinets, though it’s less flexible for non-typical sizes.”
How We Picked
I evaluated these products based on several key factors, including waterproofing effectiveness, comfort level, fit compatibility, ease of cleaning, and overall build quality. Durability was a priority, especially for covers that withstand frequent washing. I also considered customer feedback for real-world performance and looked for options that balance value with quality. Products were ranked to highlight those offering the best combination of waterproof protection and comfort, with special attention to those suitable for different budgets and needs.Factors to Consider When Choosing Bassinet Mattresses With Waterproof Cover
Choosing the right bassinet mattress with a waterproof cover involves more than just selecting a waterproof surface. Size compatibility is critical; measuring your bassinet ensures a snug fit that prevents gaps. Consider the type of foam—memory foam offers softness but may trap heat, while foam with high-density core provides added support. Durability and ease of cleaning are also important, especially since waterproof covers need regular washing. Finally, verify that the waterproof layer is safe, non-toxic, and breathable to prevent overheating or skin irritation.Size and Fit Compatibility
Ensuring the mattress fits snugly within your bassinet prevents gaps that could pose safety risks. Always measure the interior dimensions of your bassinet before purchasing and compare them against product specifications. Some mattresses are adjustable or come in multiple sizes, which can be helpful if your bassinet has unique dimensions. A proper fit not only enhances safety but also prevents the waterproof cover from shifting or tearing over time.
Type of Waterproof Cover
The waterproof layer can be made from various materials, including vinyl, TPU, or treated fabric. Vinyl covers tend to be more affordable but might be less breathable, leading to potential overheating. TPU offers a better balance of waterproofing and breathability, reducing moisture buildup. The choice of material impacts both comfort and longevity—opt for covers that are washable and resistant to cracking or peeling, especially if frequent washing is expected.
Foam Material and Comfort
The core foam impacts how comfortable your baby will be. Memory foam provides a plush surface that molds to the baby’s shape but can retain heat, so look for options with cooling features if your baby is prone to overheating. High-density foam offers more support and durability but may feel firmer. Combining supportive foam with a soft, waterproof top layer creates a balanced surface that is both cozy and resilient.
Ease of Cleaning and Maintenance
Since waterproof covers are intended to contain spills, ease of cleaning is vital. Removable, washable covers simplify maintenance, ensuring the mattress stays hygienic. Non-toxic, stain-resistant fabrics prolong the lifespan of the waterproof layer and prevent odors. Avoid mattresses with complicated cleaning procedures or covers that are difficult to remove, as regular maintenance is key to keeping your baby safe and comfortable.
Durability and Safety Features
Durability depends on both the waterproof cover and foam material. Look for products with reinforced edges and high-quality stitching to withstand frequent washing. Safety features, such as hypoallergenic materials and non-toxic waterproof layers, are essential for protecting sensitive skin. Remember, a waterproof cover that deteriorates quickly defeats its purpose, so investing in a slightly higher-priced, durable option often pays off in long-term safety and convenience.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use a waterproof mattress cover on any bassinet?
Most waterproof mattress covers are designed to fit standard bassinet sizes but always verify measurements before purchase. Some covers are adjustable or come in multiple sizes, making them compatible with a variety of bassinets. It’s important to check the product dimensions and your bassinet’s interior size to ensure a snug, safe fit. Using an ill-fitting cover can lead to slippage or gaps, which could increase safety risks.
Are waterproof covers safe for my baby’s skin?
Yes, most waterproof covers are made from non-toxic, hypoallergenic materials designed to be safe for babies. Look for products that specify the use of BPA-free, phthalate-free, and non-toxic materials. Avoid covers with vinyl that may emit fumes or cause skin irritation. Washable, fabric-based waterproof layers tend to be gentler and safer, especially for babies with sensitive skin.
How often should I replace or wash my bassinet mattress waterproof cover?
Regular washing every 1-2 weeks is recommended to maintain hygiene, especially if spills or accidents occur. Inspect the waterproof cover regularly for signs of wear, tears, or peeling, and replace it if damaged. Frequent washing can degrade waterproof layers over time, so investing in a durable, high-quality cover can extend its lifespan. Always follow the manufacturer’s cleaning instructions to avoid compromising the waterproofing or fabric integrity.
Is memory foam better than high-density foam for a bassinet mattress?
Memory foam offers a softer, more conforming surface that can be more comfortable for some babies, but it tends to trap heat, which might not be ideal for hot sleepers. High-density foam provides firmer support and tends to be more durable, making it suitable for long-term use. The best choice depends on your baby’s comfort needs and your preferences for support versus softness, but pairing either with a waterproof cover ensures protection against spills.
What features should I prioritize if I want a budget-friendly waterproof bassinet mattress?
For a budget-friendly option, prioritize products with a reliable waterproof cover made from safe, easy-to-clean materials like treated fabric or PVC. Look for a model that offers a snug fit, adequate support, and easy washing features. While cheaper options may use basic waterproof layers, ensure they still meet safety standards and are free from harmful chemicals. Balancing cost with durability and safety will help you find a practical solution without sacrificing essential features.
Conclusion
The best overall pick for most parents is the Bassinet Mattress Pad, 41″ x 27.5″ with Dual Layer Memory Foam, offering a blend of comfort, waterproof protection, and durability. If you’re seeking the best value, the American Baby Company Waterproof Mattress Pad Protector delivers reliable waterproofing at an affordable price. For those willing to invest in premium comfort, the Lisara Gel Memory Foam Bassinet Mattress provides plushness and safety features. Beginners or budget-conscious buyers should focus on straightforward, easy-to-maintain options, while parents with specific size needs will benefit from verifying measurements carefully. Ultimately, selecting the right mattress depends on your priorities—whether safety, comfort, or cost—so use this guide to find the perfect match for your baby’s needs.
